Eli's Star Wars party

Kyle went to Eli's party on Saturday. He had a Star Wars party. Kyle played some games, otherwise known as the Jedi training.

I asked Eli if I could take his picture with Kyle and he shook his head no, so I took this one anyway.

First soccer game of the season

Kyle played his first soccer game of the season last night. He missed the first game because we were in Nashville so he was really excited to play. However he did not play very well, of course I still took pictures. I had to leave half way through to take Kaitlyn to softball practice.

New house color

The kids have been playing outside for a long time for the past couple of days. Yesterday I pulled in the driveway and realized that Kaitlyn had drawn her name with the sidewalk chalk pretty big, right on the front of the house. The rain does not really wash this stuff off the bricks (this I know from past experience). Then they colored in several of the bricks on the side going into the front door.

Kyle always wants me to take his picture anytime he sees me with the camera. I am not complaining, this is a good thing but I end up with lots of random pictures of him. And I cannot delete my child!

Kyle informed me last night that he wanted an elephant as a pet. This was after seeing the oreo cookie straw commercial. I said where will he sleep and what will he eat. He told me he can sleep in the den and I would have to get him some carrots.

Then last night, Kyle went and got in the bed with Kaitlyn because he got mad at me and John. He sometimes will go in there with her because she claims she is scared and can hear noises outside her window. This is just her attempt for us to let her not have to sleep in her bed. Kyle will go and lay down with her until she falls asleep and then come back in the den with us. This has happened a couple of times. This morning they were both still in her bed so I took a picture, I think this will be my POTD.

I can see!

I took Kaitlyn to the eye doctor last week. I kept telling her it wouldn't hurt, then he had to dialate her eyes and put those drops in them. She didn't like that at all. She picked out some glasses and yesterday I went to pick them up. She put them on and said WOW, I can see. She stood back and was reading everything.

Egg hunt

We went to our church egg hunt yesterday. We have the egg hunt a week late every year due to Lads to Leaders and a ton of the kids being in Nashville for that. That event is on Easter every year.

We thought it was going to rain us out but the rain held off. The people did not deliver the giant blow up slide that they had ordered but we still had the egg hunt, hot dogs and chips, and played some games.

Brother/Sister -- they have such a love/hate relationship!

Then they hunted eggs. Kaitlyn found an area in the flower beds where no one else was and Kyle ran fast and picked up a ton out in the field.

Kyle and Jackson (they are becoming the next Jen/Wendy and have to have their picture taken at every event!)

After eating, the kids (and some adults) played a couple of games. First we started with the egg toss. Dedra and I were partners and she threw it to me real high and I didn't catch it. Kyle and Jackson were partners and Jackson threw it to Kyle when he wasn't looking so that was the end for them. Kaitlyn and Chase were partners (against Chase's will, HA!) and they made it through a couple of rounds.

Then the kids played the egg relay. Kyle's team did really good. They actually listened to the instructions and walked real slow and were careful to not drop the egg. Between the 6 of them (all age 6 and under) they only dropped the egg 2-3 times and never dropped between exchanges.

But Kaitlyn's team won (I think, it is hard to watch all of the teams).

Taylor Kate's down on the farm party

Today Kyle was invited to Taylor Kate's birthday party. She had her party at a little petting farm in Millington.

Kyle fed and pet the goats.

He rode a horse (really a pony) and they went on a hayride.

Then he chased a rooster. He almost caught it a couple of times and once it tried to peck at him. I thought he would leave it alone after that but he didn't. Wendy even got in on the action for a minute.

And here is Kyle and some other friends. Ashley was also there so of course there were a couple of pictures of her.

Sorry for the long post but I took 60 pictures (and it wasn't even my kids party!). It was hard picking the good ones to post. I have started uploading a lot more pictures to facebook just so I can upload them all. Guess I will have to do that later, plus I like to tag people in them.

One last one:

Thanks to Taylor for the invite, it was a great party Jenn.

Soccer Criminal

Kyle's soccer team had their pictures made at practice last night. The uniforms this year are the ugliest orange you have ever seen. They are like criminal-jumpsuit-pick-up-trash-from-the-side-of-the-road orange.

Opryland Hotel photoshoot

Of course while we were at the Opryland hotel I took lots of pictures of my kids. They have such great scenery for taking pictures. I didn't take as many as I wanted too, especially of Kyle but still got a couple of good ones.

Awards ceremony

Bartlett Woods racked up the awards last night. We pretty much swept the song leading and debate events. They call the kids in random order on the stage for each event, in each grade level (yes this takes forever) and then announce 3rd place, 2nd place and 1st place. Everyone is cheering and hollering for their group. It really is exciting!

The first event of the night was scrapbook and of course the first level was grade 3-4. He called Kaitlyn's name to come on the stage. She was so excited yet nervous about going on the stage. Then she won 3rd place for her scrapbook!!

Then we got 2nd place for the group scrapbook (which Kaitlyn helped with), so she got to go on stage again.

Next was the song of praise event. Kaitlyn got to go on stage again because she was a finalist. She didn't place but still got a finalist trophy (which she was super excited about)!

They also call for all the K-2 participants and they get to go on stage. Kyle cried and cried and did not want to go but I made him. Once he got in line he was fine and was upset that he didn't get a trophy too!

And here is another one for the church senior video. Jessica, Jackson and Kyle keeping themselves entertained at the awards.
