Project Life 2012

Even though I haven't finished my project life 2011 (or 2010 or 2009 for that matter), I have started my Project Life for 2012. I am almost completely up to date with through January and February and hope to work on March on Friday night (I am going to crop at my friend Amy's) as well as work on 2011. This year I am incorporating more variety of journal cards I found on the web or I bought the digital download of, I am also using the plain journal cards and adding stickers to make my own journal cards. Here is some of what I have completed:

week 1 (I still have to write up the story of John's car getting stolen:

week 2:

week 3:

week 4:

week 6:

week 7:

Yes I know I skipped week 5, it is not quite done yet. But there is what I have so far. I LOVE this project and the way it has made me change my whole outlook on life, not just the way I scrapbook. Plus I have several friends doing this also so it is good to get together with them and talk about how we are incorporating different things.

basketball tournament

This past weekend Kyle's team played in a tournament. There were 4 teams, his team came in 3rd (which means they won one game). We found out at the end that some of the players were in the 5th grade, our team is 1st and 2nd graders. It was supposed to be a 2nd and 3rd grade tournament but whatever. The first game they played on Friday night was a very exciting game though, they had double overtime then sudden death, first team to score wins. Well we missed our first shot, the other team missed their shot but we fouled them. The kid made his 2nd free throw and so that was the game.

They might be giants

These three might be on the pew playing legos now but they are such good friends and I know God has big plans for them. Here are three future church leaders!

1st soccer game of the spring

Kyle had his first soccer game of the season on Monday night. We are playing on a somewhat competitive team now. We lost really bad. These kids have not played together before (well 4 of the 9 have) though and they are playing against teams who have been playing together for a while. We are not real sure about how this season is going to go. He has another game tomorrow so we shall see how that one pans out.

Woodland Discovery park

They built a new playground at Shelby Farms last year and we finally got to go check it out during spring break. It was a pretty day so it was a crowded but the park is big enough and there is plenty to do. We stayed away from the sand and water.

This is my new favorite Kyle picture, I need to crop out Kaitlyn's arm and lighten it up just a little but I love it!

downtown day

Wednesday of Spring break we went downtown with some friends. We started at the Peabody, watching the ducks then going up to the rooftop.

Next we rode the trolley on the riverfront loop, the kids had fun waving and saying hello to all the people passing by. I'm sure all the business people just loved that.

Then we went to Kooky Canuck for lunch. We of course got a skillet cookie and even got the s'mores.

Then we walked on Beale st. just for a little fun. We went in A.Schwab and tried on some hats then it was time to go home to rest before Kyle's basketball party.

Zoo

The zoo was insanely crowded on Tuesday but we went and braved the crowds anyway. We rode the tram around and other than the Dinosaur exhibit and the line to get in (which we skipped because we bought a membership) it wasn't that bad.

I took a ton of pictures of this rooster for some strange reason

Dinosaur exhibit, not worth the extra $3 per person you pay to get in

Spring break week

John ended up working the whole week for Spring break so our plans to make a quick getaway trip didn't pan out. It was okay because we had a nice fun filled week at home. The weather was just perfect all week (except for the downpour on Friday morning), made it easy to get out and do some things around town.

On Monday we went to see The Lorax (great movie!) with my stepmom and her mom. After lunch at Coletta's ventured over to Jerry's sno cones. We had been wanting to try this place for a while. It was good and I see what all the hype is about, we will definitely go back.

On Tuesday we had lunch at Genghis grill then headed to the zoo (post coming) with everyone else in Memphis, it was super crowded. But we got a membership so we can go back anytime we want before March 13, 2013.

On Wednesday we had a 'downtown' day. Post coming!

Thursday we ventured out to the new park at Shelby Farms then to Gigi's cupcakes for treats. Post coming on that too.

Friday we went to Target and got new batteries and a charger for our Wii remotes so that we could finally play Just Dance 3, we got this game for Christmas but had not played it yet.

another Sunday afternoon

We had another gorgeous Sunday afternoon. The weather was just perfect. Jade and Peyton came over to Luke's and we just chilled. I know I say it all the time on this blog but I just love our Sunday afternoon's at Luke's. Cousins playing together and building those relationships, trying new recipes, working on Project Life, trying to plan upcoming vacations, playing games and when the weather is pretty it just adds to greatness of the day.

Following the leader, the leader, the leader, we're following the leader where ever she may go:

this one is such a mess

Next time I will have to remember to put a bow in Jade and Peyton's hair to keep it out of their face if I am going to take a bunch of pictures!
