Pink Palace

Today didn't quite go as planned. We were going to go to the Pink Palace, eat some lunch then head to the zoo. Holly took her grandma to the doctor and clearly he had no regard for the fact that people don't want to be in a dr. office for 5 hours of their day! Oh well, we're flexible so we just went to the pink palace later that afternoon. Then we topped it off with Yogurt Mountain!

Caleb and Kyle act like old friends even though they have only been around each other a few times. I was trying to get them to pose for me and Kyle was not cooperating, Caleb was trying to help. HA!

Memorial day fun

Our friends from Knoxville, the Aytes, are here for a few days. Yesterday we went to church then Incredible Pizza then hung out at Luke's. For Memorial day of course we are hanging out at Luke's.

Tornadic Weather

This year has been really bad for tornadoes all across the US. We have gone in the hallway 3 times at school and I think we have only been in the hallway one other time during the 12 years I have been teaching. Sirens and stormy weather don't really freak me out, I am not one of those people who spend the whole time in the bathroom while the sirens are going off. However last night I put myself and Kyle (John and Kaitlyn were at the skating rink for the 5th grade party) in the bathroom after I went outside and took this picture:

5th grade graduation

Kaitlyn graduated from the 5th grade and elementary school today. Next year she will go to 6th grade and officially be a middle schooler.

Kaitlyn got to walk across the stage twice, once to receive her certificate for 'graduating' and again to receive a trophy like thing for being at Bartlett from Kindergarten through 5th grade.

Kaitlyn's field day

Kaitlyn had her field day today. Don't know why they can't have all the grades on the same day so I don't have to take 2 days off work but I digress.

Kyle's field day

Kyle had field day today. He looks forward to field day all year. But this year it was about 53 degrees outside so they moved it in the gym. Last year he had to have it in the gym too because it rained which means both years he has missed out on the tug of war. Poor kid!
