fall break road trip

We are about to embark on a road trip vacation to the west. I was really excited when I saw our school calendar for this year back in March and noticed that our fall break was a week earlier than normal. This is the week that the huge hot air balloon festival in Albuquerque, NM happens each year. I mapped it and it saw it was about a 16 hour drive and I-40 all the way, we could do that I thought. So we are leaving Monday and making several stops. We will add three new states to our list of states we have visited.

ASA Soccer

Kyle has moved up to the real competitive soccer level. He plays for Arlington, their games are at Mike Rose. We had a tournament this past weekend. Soccer now takes all of time and gas! But he loves it and he is pretty good at it.

Delta Fair

We made our annual trip to the Delta Fair on Saturday. It was really hot. Kaitlyn didn't really want to ride anything and Kyle kept fussing for a gatorade. But they did ride some rides and had a good time anyway.

The first day of school came too quickly this year. Kyle is starting 3rd grade and Kaitlyn is starting 7th grade. They are at the same schools as last year.

I tried to take a picture of Kaitlyn and Aaliyah waiting for me to pick them up and they saw me before I could get it and starting running off.

ripley waterpark

We drove to Ripley yesterday to go to this waterpark we had heard about. It only cost $7 a person and has a big twisty slide. It was worth a drive and the money so we said next year we will try to go at least twice. Susan and I took all 7 of the cousins.

The big kids went down the big slide several times, I think Kyle went down about 30 times. 

I even went down about 5 times, I would have gone more if there was an elevator to the top

the only bad part is there is zero shade, so despite putting on sunscreen and even reapplying we all came home red as ripley tomatoes

On Friday I took Kyle on a riverboat ride downtown, Kaitlyn decided last minute that she didn't want to go so she missed out on the fun (and saved me some money). We went with our friends the Paulo's.

We did several more things on our list this week. We only have one week left before I go back to work. :(

We made rice krispy treat suckers dipped in chocolate

went to Incredible Pizza

Kyle went to Ryan's birthday party at Skyzone

we made milkshakes

and put the bulletins out in the pews at church (July is our month)

We also went on a riverboat ride downtown but that deserves its own post!

4-wheelers

Back in March Luke bought a 4-wheeler so of course John had to get one too. He bought one when we got back from Florida. Then for some reason Luke thought Ashley needed her own 4-wheeler so he go her this cute pink camo little one. She is still too little to ride on it (by herself anyway) so Kyle drives everybody around on it. All he talks about now is riding the 4-wheeler! He thinks he is king!
