ASA Soccer

Kyle has moved up to the real competitive soccer level. He plays for Arlington, their games are at Mike Rose. We had a tournament this past weekend. Soccer now takes all of time and gas! But he loves it and he is pretty good at it.

Kaitlyn is playing softball again this year. She didn't play last year because our church team didn't make. This year there were only 4 girls that wanted to play so we hooked up with another team. They are called the Bartlett Heat. Kaitlyn typically plays centerfield.

This past weekend Kyle's team played in a tournament. There were 4 teams, his team came in 3rd (which means they won one game). We found out at the end that some of the players were in the 5th grade, our team is 1st and 2nd graders. It was supposed to be a 2nd and 3rd grade tournament but whatever. The first game they played on Friday night was a very exciting game though, they had double overtime then sudden death, first team to score wins. Well we missed our first shot, the other team missed their shot but we fouled them. The kid made his 2nd free throw and so that was the game.

1st soccer game of the spring

Kyle had his first soccer game of the season on Monday night. We are playing on a somewhat competitive team now. We lost really bad. These kids have not played together before (well 4 of the 9 have) though and they are playing against teams who have been playing together for a while. We are not real sure about how this season is going to go. He has another game tomorrow so we shall see how that one pans out.

Basketball

Kyle is playing basketball at Singleton again this year. He is the oldest and biggest kid on the team this year. We like our team and the coaches much better than last year. So far their record is 3-2. Here are some pics from the last two games.

And my pictures are real fuzzy, I hate trying to take pictures in the gym because I can never get my settings right. I can't remember what settings I used here but I know I have my ISO on 1600 (which is the highest it goes). I need a pretty quick shutter speed and no flash but then the photo is too noisy. Suggestions from my knowledgable photography friends? Steve, Amy, Kelley, Abbie...

1st soccer game

Fall soccer has started. We are playing on the same team in Arlington. This year we have refs and do a coin toss at the beginning to see who goes first. We won 6-3, Kyle scored 2 goals. The whole team played really well. This year they have finally gotten the hang of staying spread apart and passing the ball.

spring soccer

Well spring soccer has begun, even though soccer is a constant at our house. Kyle is playing on the same team from the fall, though they lost a couple of players and gained a couple of new ones. Last Saturday they played their first game against a competitive team and lost 3-4 (Kyle scored 1) but to be playing a competitive team the kids played really well. Today they won 5-0, Kyle scored 2.
